Morning Run
In order to achieve your goals, you need consistency. You have to stop thinking and just do it, which leads to less decision-making and less hesitation. You want to “free your brain” (declutter your mind). Therefore, you can focus your energy elsewhere.
The idea is to list your morning routine minutes by minutes and build something that works for you. Build something that step by step will bring closer to your dreams.
“Don’t think, just do it.” – SimpleLifeBalancing.
The “Morning run” initial idea was a list of task you do every morning before work. You can easily expand it to a whole day schedule. So, you know exactly how you are spending your time during that day. You have more control on when you wake up/ sleep, eat, exercise, have free time and what happen right after you wake up,
Here is an example below: (for remote work and office work)
Comments:
Setting up alarm in advance, so we don’t need to think too much. “Don’t think, Just do it.”
It’s better to leave the “thinking” for strategic long-term goals then constantly “thinking” about daily operations.
Remote work gives you more time: No commute time (save 1h) and you can do some house chores during work time.
Book recommendations:
The Power of Habit, by Charles Duhigg: Basically the book explain you how to replace bad habits with habits you want to develop to achieve your goals.
Quotes:
“Habits are what allows us to do things with difficulty the first time, but soon do it more and more easily, and finally, with sufficient practice, do it semi-mechanically, or with hardly any consciousness at all.”
– PowerOfHabit
“Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow.” – Chris Hadfield
“Decide in your heart of hearts what really excites and challenges you and start moving your life in that direction. Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight turns you into who you are tomorrow, and the day after that. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself into that person. You may not get exactly where you thought you’d be but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in. Don’t let life randomly kick you into the adult you don’t want to become.”- Chris Hadfield. (Zen pencil)
“It’s not about the results, it’s about how you deal with it and how you feel about it. The process is more important than the result itself.”
“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t you so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”
